Featuring a four-bedroom guesthouse for up to eight guests and a separate studio apartment for two, Rosby offers the ideal luxury escape-to-the-country experience for groups or couples.
For those who just want to slow down and unwind with a refreshing dose of country air, there is plenty to absorb within the Rosby property itself. Wake up to catch the mist roll in and blanket the valley below then slowly disperse to reveal the day. In the evenings, bring a picnic blanket out onto the manicured lawn and enjoy the spectacle of cattle grazing and kangaroos visiting the paddocks in front of a backdrop of sweeping sunset views.
Walking tracks take you up and over gentle slopes, around paddocks and fields and past eucalypts brimming with native wildlife. Keep an eye out for the distinctive red-crested king parrots, tiny superb fairy wrens and flocks of galahs and cockatoos amongst the gums.
Meander down the track through an established olive grove and vineyard to Rosby’s cellar door for a well-earned glass of wine. Why not organise a private wine tasting with Rosby Wines vigneron and your generous host, Gerry?
A warm Rosby welcome awaits all guests, with a complimentary package including a bottle of Rosby wine, cheese and crackers from local producers High Valley Cheese, access to fresh produce growing in the vegetable plot and eggs you can collect yourself from the resident chooks.
A delicious and ample complimentary breakfast is provided, ready to be laid out when you wake up in the morning. It includes sourdough bread, Rosby free-range eggs, bacon, yoghurts, a selection of seasonal fruit, butter, spreads, muesli, a variety of teas, plunger coffee and a pod machine (in the Guesthouse accommodation).
King-sized beds are dressed in the highest quality linens, feather/wool duvets and waffle-weave cotton or angora blankets to match the season. Stylish ensuite bathrooms each feature a spacious shower, own toilet and vanity, and are stocked with indulgent body and bath products from The White Company. Soft white towels and fluffy terry robes are provided for each guest.
Given its absolute seclusion and privacy from the outside world, Rosby Guesthouse and Studio is surprisingly close to civilisation, with the town of Mudgee only ten minutes’ drive away.
The Rosby Guesthouse building is suitable for groups of up to eight, with four luxury king-sized bedrooms.
All four bedrooms are luxuriously furnished and take in the restful views of distant fields and hills, or the country garden with its lavender hedges and green lawns. All have reverse-cycle air conditioning and feature a king-sized bed (able to be separated into king singles), ensuite bathroom and shower.
An open-plan, shared dining, lounge and entertaining space makes the most of the show-stopping views with large windows gazing out over the landscape. The communal space is stylishly decorated with artworks and country-style furnishings under spectacular hardwood cathedral ceilings. On cooler evenings, relax around the open fireplace with a book and a glass of wine on one of the soft lounges or plush armchairs.
Entertaining in the Guesthouse is a joy, with a large, fully equipped kitchen providing both budding and experienced cooks a sociable, comfortable and well-stocked workspace for preparing meals. Base your menu around the seasonal produce growing in abundance and ready for picking in the vegetable plot, help yourself to the generous store of pantry basics such as oils, vinegars, mustards, flour and seasonings, then sit down together for a memorable evening around the large table for ten.
An expansive, covered verandah wraps around the building. Dine alfresco as a group at the generous outdoor table, or take in the view with a cup of coffee before breakfast at one of the smaller nooks created outside each bedroom.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Guesthouse and catering for groups is available on request.
